Include your app version, iOS version and the resource type involved. Never email an API token, server password or other secret. HetzBOT is independent of Hetzner; for Hetzner account issues, use Hetzner's official support.
Common questions
Can I try the app without an API token?
Yes. Choose Try the demo to explore a sample fleet and resources. The demo runs on bundled example data and does not require access to your infrastructure.
Where can I create an API token?
In the Hetzner Cloud Console, open your project and go to Security → API Tokens. Choose a read-only token for viewing resources or a token with the appropriate permissions for operations. Never share the token in a support message.
Where is my API token stored?
In your iPhone's Keychain. HetzBOT communicates directly with Hetzner Cloud over HTTPS; no HetzBOT account or developer-operated proxy is required. See the Privacy Policy.
Do my automations run while the iPhone is closed?
Not reliably. iOS can suspend the app in the background. HetzBOT's schedules run on-device, not on a 24/7 cloud server. Open the app around scheduled times. Missed operations are reported rather than executing destructive actions long after they were due.
What server recovery functions are available?
Snapshots and Rescue tools are available for supported server operations. Root password recovery requires a working QEMU Guest Agent on the guest operating system; HetzBOT does not guarantee that recovery is available for every server.
Can I edit every type of Hetzner resource?
No. Server operations, selected firewall attachments and supported reverse-DNS changes are implemented. Some volumes, network, load-balancer and other advanced resource screens are read-only in this version. The app does not claim full web-console parity.
How can I report a problem?
Write to info@manuelluck.com and describe what happened, including the app and iOS versions, reproducible steps and any non-sensitive screenshot. For an urgent infrastructure incident, use the Hetzner Cloud Console directly.
Is there a subscription?
No. HetzBOT has no Pro subscription or additional paid tier. Hetzner's infrastructure charges are separate and continue to be governed by your Hetzner account.
